The Evening
Join us for an evening dedicated to promoting youth voice to end oppression in our community and help raise funds for the Dolores Huerta Foundation. The evening starts at 5:30 where non-profit groups from the Thurston County area will showcase the ways they confront and combat oppression in our community. At 7:00 pm, Civil Rights legend Dolores Huerta will inspire us by sharing the story of her life of activism. The evening will also feature voices of youth who are leading the STAY WOKE students of color conference. All proceeds from tickets will benefit the Dolores Huerta Foundation and STAY WOKE Conference.

PurposeOur primary objective is to inspire youth voices for ending oppression in our community. With so many people feeling helpless, we want to equip, encourage and empower our students to take action to shape their world for the better. We want our youth and community to meet, and perhaps join the groups that are actively working - here and now - for positive change. We will inspire our youth and community to financially support these causes and grow leadership for a better future.
Our financial objective is to raise $10,000+ for the Dolores Huerta Foundation. Check this website for more information about the Dolores Huerta Foundation: http://doloreshuerta.org/ Also, to support the Stay Woke! Students of Color Conference that will be occurring the next day at St. Martin’s. Check this website for more details about the STAY WOKE Conference: https://studentsstaywoke.weebly.com/ |
